Bryant Park During the Winter Season

Bryant Park is a great park to go to around the winter season. It is a smaller park, but it has a great atmosphere. I have always wanted to go ice skating there or at Central Park. I know that the admission is free at Bryant Park's ice skating rink. However, you would need to pay for skates and a lock if you don't bring your own. It is super crowded during the holiday season. Last year, I witnessed a proposal on the ice skating rink. It was lovely! Everyone got out of the ice skating rink, and then someone came in with the ice resurfacer to make the surface of the ice smooth again. Then, two other people skated in. It was a man and a woman. I don't think we were expecting anything to happen, but all of a sudden, the spotlight hits them. The next thing I know, my friend is telling me that the man is proposing. I don't remember all of the details too well, but I know for sure it was an overjoyed moment. It was slowly drizzling that day, and I was sitting under an umbrella, chatting with my friend. It was great that I was able to see her that day since I only saw her once in a blue moon. There was a nice Christmas tree in the rink. It just put me in the holiday spirit seeing it. I remember watching many people skate. Some clinging onto the side, scared to fall. While, others moved gracefully on the ice. They glided around and danced on the ice so effortlessly. If only that was me. There were tall buildings lighted up that washed away the night stars. Walking around and smelling all the aromas was such a pleasure. There were many vendors selling food and drinks. Holiday shops were opened because it was around Christmas time. The holiday shops sold all kinds of crafts, jewelries, and so much more. Whether it was soup, hot chocolate, or coffee, it sure made the air smell great. I could almost taste the hot chocolate in my mouth, reminiscing on the memories at Bryant Park. The sweet and delicious smells. It is a nice park full of activities year round. It is near Times Square and also right by the New York Public Library. I would love to go there again.
