WHY I WAKE UP SO EARLY?!

It is around 6:30 AM. Yes, people ask me all the time why I wake up so early. This is not “normal” because it is mid-winter break. However, it is the most normal thing ever for me. For a long time, I have been waking up early. There are numerous times when I wake up at 2 AM. I either TRY to go back to sleep or just wake up. The most annoying thing is I can’t sleep late or have anything late in the day. If I sleep at 3 AM, I bet you that I will still wake up at 6 AM. I used to start school later in the day in sophomore year. Class used to start at 9 AM for me. That was an absolute back pain in the back. I would wake up hours before class started and have nothing to do. Also, by the time I got home, I wanted to sleep. Since I started school later last year, I ended later in the school day. Then, there was the time I had to work an afternoon shift when I got my first job. I would come in on the weekdays at 2:30 PM. I would leave work at 7:30 PM. I would get home around 9 or 10 PM. That summer job meant that I was going to bed late and I was waking up early. Like I said before, no matter how late I go to bed, I am still going to wake up early. I just can't help it. Throughout the years, I just started waking up earlier. On Sundays I would be at work at 9:30 AM.  I would then leave at 2:30 PM. Sundays were a good day to work since there were not a lot of people who would come to the dance studio.

Well, this school year, I got a first period schedule. I start first period at 7:45 AM. That is like the dream for me. I wake up around 5 AM to get ready for school. I usually go to school early to eat breakfast. I haven’t been late to school in a LONG time! I don’t want to jinx it. I wish I could sleep more because I don’t think I ever sleep. I feel tired all the time. I haven’t had a good sleep in a long time! I guess my sleep schedule got messed up after I came back from a vacation in China. I got severely jet lagged! However, I don’t know the true cause of my sleep problems. I think freshman year included a lot of me not being able to fall asleep. That still happens to me though because I will feel so tired. However, I will not be able to fall asleep. Technology doesn’t seem to help much. We all have this addiction to our phones these days. Oh, I just remembered something! I started waking up early because I had to pee like every minute. The summer that I went to China was the time that I contradicted a really bad UTI. For a person who has gotten many UTI’s in the past, I had no idea anything was wrong with me. I thought I just had to pee like A LOT! I mostly got UTI 's because I wasn’t drinking enough water. I think I have gotten dehydrated many times too. I just don’t know what’s with me and drinking water. Anyway, I was waking up a lot to go to the bathroom that summer in China. I would be up early every morning, and I would not be able to go back to sleep. During my freshman year, I worried so much about drinking water because the smallest sip of water would give me a trip to the bathroom. By the end of the day, I would be on the train with my bladder hurting like crazy. I had gone to the bathroom so many times during school already though. I didn’t know that I had a UTI for months until I went to the doctor.

On another note, waking up early has made me realize one thing. I love mornings. It’s the best time of the day. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. There are so many delicious breakfast meals. There are birds chirping. The sky looks breathtaking with the sun rising. I love going out and feeling the morning chill. The morning air is just so crisp. There is so much more that I could do in the morning. I am always the first one to get up in the morning. I wish I could sleep more hours, but I still love my early mornings.

                               As always,
                                                Lisa :)
